Beautiful original Friedrich-August Cross 1st Class (Steckkreuz) from the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg. Instituted in 1914 for merit during WWI. This example is made of black-patinated Buntmetall (non-magnetic) and is in neat, worn condition. The reverse is complete with the original, functional pin and catch. The cross has a beautiful appearance with characteristic light edge patina, where the brass-colored base is subtly visible. Honest and sought-after 1st class WWI cross!
