This is the sought-after, expanded 7th and 8th edition from 1943, published by Verlag von Theodor Steinkopff (Dresden/Leipzig). This handbook served as a direct guide for surgery in the field and includes the printed foreword by Prof. Dr. S. Handloser (Chief of the Wehrmacht Medical Service). The book has a total of 408 pages (XII + 407 pages of text) and is richly illustrated with 79 medical images and diagrams, including anatomical surgical drawings (Art. brachialis), cross-sections of the human body in abdominal gunshot wounds (true abdominal gunshots) and mobile field X-ray equipment. The book is in neat, used but solid condition. The original black cloth binding with crisp silver lettering is fully intact and the binding is firm. The pages show the light paper browning characteristic of this wartime period, but are clean and without modern markings or tears.
