Rare manual for the amphibious Leichter Personenkraftwagen K 2s Typ 166 (Schwimmwagen). This is the official and sought-after military service manual D 662/13, containing the Gerätebeschreibung und Bedienungsanweisung (equipment description and operating instructions), dated December 5, 1942. It was issued by the Oberkommando des Heeres (Army High Command / Army Ordnance Office, Berlin). The manual is richly illustrated and includes several original photographs showing the vehicle in action (Image 37a/b: entering and exiting the water; Image 43: paddling), a detailed dimensional sketch showing all vehicle measurements (Image 34), as well as technical diagrams of the central lubrication pump (Image 28), the amphibious propeller mechanism (Image 30), and the ignition distributor (Image 65).Condition: The manual is in very neat, honest, used condition. As these specific Wehrmacht covers were originally made from very weak and fragile wartime cardstock, the spine shows the expected and characteristic signs of creasing. The original cover was professionally stabilized in the past with an old paper/glue repair on the inside of the spine to prevent further wear. Consequently, the binding is secure, and all pages remain firmly attached. The paper shows authentic, age-related slight discoloration and minimal foxing spots, yet it has remained remarkably clean and is free from heavy oil stains or tears. The original printer's code, C/1410, appears in the corner of the inside back cover. The absolute highlight of this copy is that the *Schmierplan* (the large fold-out lubrication chart, Fig. 70) at the back of the book is still 100% intact and completely undamaged. An additional unique feature is the title page, which bears a crisp red hand-stamp from Dipl. Ing. R. Witt (*Technischer Kriegsverwaltungsrat*), affiliated with the *Technische Lehrgänge* in Wünsdorf near Berlin (the central training and headquarters facility for the Wehrmacht's armoured troops).
