An exceptionally late death card for Wehrmacht Sergeant Heinz Grün, born in M. Gladbach. Heinz served with the Luftwaffe from January 1940 and was a veteran of both the Western and Eastern Front. Heinz was the recipient of several war decorations. Killed in action on 4 May 1945 in Schwerin/Mcklbg., just 4 days before Germany’s overall surrender during the chaotic final battles for Mecklenburg. He left behind a little son he never got to see.
