From 1916, a medal was issued with the inscription: In Eiserner Zeit - Gold gab ich zur Wehr Eisen nahm ich zur Ehr. The medal was designed by Hermann Hosaeus, a German sculptor who created several other patriotic sculptures. In this case, the medal is provided with a silver pendant so that the medal could be worn.
