Extremely Rare WWII Kriegsmarine Career Badge – Signalman in Training (Early Variant, c. 1936)
€75,00
Availability: In Stock
Offered: A guaranteed 100% original and extremely rare sleeve insignia (Laufbahnabzeichen) of the German Kriegsmarine. It is an early variant for a signal petty officer in training (petty officer in signals/reporting service in training). This specific insignia is an absolute needle in a haystack for the advanced naval collector due to its unique combination of features: Early design (approx. 1935-1938): The flagpoles cross high through the eye of the anchor, combined with the yellow star of a petty officer. This specific pre-war design was officially changed before 1939, which means very few were produced at the time. Red trim (In training):): The red edging shows that the wearer was still in the training phase at one of the Naval Signals Schools. These badges were worn for only a few months and then removed, which greatly increases their rarity. Reverse: The reverse shows neat machine work with the characteristic continuous jump threads (Spannfäden). There are also light stitching marks visible from being worn on the uniform. Condition:In good, worn condition with authentic age-related traces. The dark blue wool base has a small, characteristic hole/worn spot on the front (right next to the left flagpole) from wear. The embroidery itself is otherwise razor-sharp and the wool has no moth damage.
