Offered is a rare, authentic certificate from the German Zollgrenzschutz (customs border guard) from annexed Austria. This historical document was prepared for the local ski competitions ("Schiwettkämpfe") in the Bludenz mountain district (Vorarlberg) in February 1940. Features and details: Recipient: Awarded to Customs Assistant Schittenhelm for achieving 4th place in the overall ranking (Gesamtwertung). Seal: Equipped with the official blind seal (embossing) featuring the German Reich eagle and swastika at the bottom. Signature: Hand-signed by the local Bezirkszollkommissar (BZKom.). Format: Large 'Kanzleiformat' of approx. 33.5 x 25.5 cm. Frame: Supplied in the matching, authentic period wooden interchangeable frame with the characteristic gold-twisted edge (rope motif).
