Military brass pocket compass, used by the Belgian Army (Armee Belge). This type of compass dates from the First World War period (ca. 1914–1918). The brass case features a deep inscription on the hinged lid "Armee Belge". The back of the internal compass case shows the military stamp and serial number "A.B. No. 1 / 1001". Specifications: Construction: Brass case including carrying loop and mechanical hinge. Equipped with a functional transport lock (button) to secure the needle, marked with the number "41". Dial: Silver-colored scale (0–360 degrees) with French cardinal direction markings (S, SE, E, NE, N, NW, W, SW). Equipped with a two-tone compass needle. Condition: Complete condition with an authentic patina consistent with its age. The glass is clear. The inside of the case shows historical soldering and mounting traces. The needle responds and points north.
