Complete and exceptionally rare Reinigungsgerat 34 (RG34) rifle cleaning kit for the K98k. This set was produced by the well-known manufacturer Hawig (Hauswirtschaftsmaschinen-Gesellschaft mbH in Berlin-Tiergarten) and is dated 1940. It is a 100% matching, "textbook" set in which all stamped components originally belong together. Where most sets today are made up of loose parts, this example is a historically perfectly matched whole that left the factory in 1940 exactly like this. The can still retains at least 85% to 90% of its original early-war blue-gray Wehrmacht paint(Blaugrau). The catches and hinges work perfectly, and the can shows only light, characteristic wear along the edges. Markings and details: Can: Deeply stamped on the underside with the recognizable Hawig-logo (house), the year 1940 and the early Wehrmacht inspection stamp WaA 100. Pull-through chain (Hülsenkette): Early variant with bright aluminum chain links (no late-war steel). The end piece is perfectly straight and deeply stamped with the Hawig-logo and the corresponding inspection stamp WaA 100. Oil can (Ölkännchen): The rare early brass/steel variant, in excellent condition and fitted with the original rubber gaskets. What makes it unique is that this can, just below the knurled cap, is also crisply stamped with HAWIG – an absolute rarity, as these components are almost always missing or were later replaced. Case remover (Hülsenkopfwischer): Early model disassembly tool, likewise marked with the maker HAWIG. Brush set: Fully matching and in excellent condition. The hard cleaning brush shows the historically correct construction with the brass/copper bristle core in the center. The top of the twisted wire is, in line with the early specifications, completely soldered shut to prevent barrel damage. The oil brush still has the original tufts of textile/wool. Contents: At the bottom of the compartment there is still a tuft of original cleaning cotton (Werg). A beautiful, untouched, and unique set for the discerning gear collector.
