Death card Ludwig Buchner, from Asham (Bavaria). In civilian life, he worked as a farmer's son. He served as Gefreiter in an infantry regiment and took part in all campaigns of his unit until he fell on 2 March 1942 during the heavy winter fighting in the region of Rzhev / Velikiye Luki (Russia) at the age of 24. According to the official records of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge, he was born on 27 August 1917 and his status as a war casualty is fully documented. Because his physical field grave was lost during the intense fighting and later shifts in the terrain, his name is permanently listed at the central memorial site of the German military cemetery Rshew in Russia.
