Exceptionally scarce, early, and substantively spectacular commemorative album of the Reich Labor Service (RAD) in absolute museum condition. This album belonged to a young conscript recruit (Arbeitsmann), presumably the son of Paul Kremmer, who documented his service in the spring and early summer of 1936 with Abteilung 4/43 "General-Görtzke" in Kallies, Pomerania (present-day Kalisz Pomorski, Poland). The album opens with the official green-gray linen cover featuring the silver RAD spade emblem and the original red binding cord with tassels. The inside opens with the classic propaganda portraits of Adolf Hitler ("Arbeit Adelt") and Reich Labor Leader Konstantin Hierl. The title page shows a sharp portrait of the local camp commander (Abteilungsführer) of Abteilung 4/43. The Hitler private photos (24 April 1936):This album immediately stands out from standard labor camp albums with a series of 5 extremely rare, unpublished amateur private photos of Adolf Hitler. Taken on 24 April 1936 during an unscheduled visit by the dictator to the Falkenburg region (Złocieniec). Contains unique shots of the heavily camouflaged government train, the Führer special train, with Hitler's silhouette visible behind the carriage window. Crystal-clear close-up shots of Hitler standing in his legendary open three-axle Mercedes-Benz G4 staff car, saluting the RAD men lined up along the road. These are NOT official press photos, but unique eyewitness shots taken from very close by! Contents and camp life:The album contains a total of 84 original black-and-white photos, all razor-sharp and provided with handwritten captions in neat handwriting. This section gives a fantastic picture of the iron discipline and daily routine within the camp: Heavy labor: Reclamation work (Kulturbau) with spades and pickaxes in the forests and heathlands of Pomerania. Militarization: The spectacular and well-known bicycle column marching in perfectly straight military formation through the sandy paths, the official oath ceremony (Oath-taking on 26.4.36) and inspections by Labor Leader Schmidt. Routine & interior: Rare interior shots of a perfectly arranged clothing locker (Locker and bed), peeling potatoes in the barracks and the paint guard in the wooden guard hut (Paint house). Also many shots of sports, swimming in the Pomeranian lakes, and camaraderie. Accompanying Imperial document (1912):Includes the original loose document that the owner once kept in his camp trunk as proof of lineage: an official Certificate of naturalization (naturalization certificate) from the German Empire, dated 18 May 1912 in Düsseldorf. Issued in the name of the former Austrian citizen Paul Kremmer (born 1881 in Elberfeld), who thereby acquired Prussian nationality. Complete with the original imperial tax stamps (King's stamp) worth 20 and 10 Mark and the large blue ink seal of the Royal Government in Düsseldorf. Condition:In absolute, untouched top condition. All 80 photos are razor-sharply mounted with the original photo corners. Over the decades, no postwar photos have been removed or clipped out. The handwritten texts are razor sharp. The delicate spiderweb vellum paper between the opening pages is completely intact.
